Handcrafted by artisan Yu Ming Li, this katakuchi matcha bowl embodies the harmony of tradition and subtle artistry. Its distinctive spouted form—designed for whisking and gracefully pouring matcha—also makes it a versatile piece for serving sauces, dressings, or shared tea moments.
Finished in a soft matte white powdered glaze, the surface carries gentle green undertones that emerge like mist over porcelain hills, shifting beautifully with light and shadow. The glaze’s natural variations ensure that each bowl is one-of-a-kind, holding the quiet charm of the maker’s hand.
Its wide mouth and steady base allow for ease in matcha preparation, while the tactile, stoneware texture offers a grounded feel in the palm. More than a tea tool, it is a vessel for mindfulness—a reminder to slow down and savour.

Handwashing is recommended to retain the beauty of our products and to make it last longer. For products with gold decoration, heating in a microwave may cause sparks, change of colour or damage to the decoration. Products could become cracked or chipped due to bumping with other plates in a home dishwasher; their decoration could also fade or small scratches could develop on the surface if they are washed in a dishwasher frequently.
*Due to the nature of pottery, there may be differences in colour, size, weight, etc., depending on the kiln and temperature conditions. Iron powder and unevenness caused by unevenness and accumulation of glaze may be found in some pieces. Please allow some degree of irregularity on the ceramic eg. crazing, small air holes and rust spots which are not defects as they are handmade and handglazed. It does not affect the usability. Avoid sudden temperature changes during use.
*Disclaimer: Please note that there are minor inconsistencies in tablewares which it should not be seen as a flaw. The images, descriptions and measurements on our site have been used to portray the products we sell. We must advise that although we try our best to provide the most accurate information, in reality, there will be some variations in terms of colour and size.
