Experience the captivating beauty of Japanese craftsmanship with the Hana Izumi Kiln Shinsha No Nagare "Cinnabar Flow" Katakuchi Chawan Matcha Bowl. This exquisite Aritaware piece is more than just a tea bowl; it's a testament to centuries of ceramic artistry, designed to elevate your matcha ritual into a moment of pure serenity.

"Shinsha No Nagare" translates to "Cinnabar Flow," a fitting name for the mesmerising glaze that defines this chawan. Through a meticulous firing process, the rich, vibrant cinnabar red pigment flows and blends across the surface, creating organic patterns reminiscent of molten lava or swirling clouds at sunset. Each bowl is a unique masterpiece, with no two "flows" ever exactly alike, ensuring you own a truly individual work of art.

The "Katakuchi" design features a subtle spout on one side, a thoughtful detail that enhances both the aesthetics and practicality of the bowl. Traditionally used for pouring liquids, in a chawan, it adds an elegant asymmetry and can even aid in pouring out the last drops of matcha. The gentle curve of the spout complements the overall organic form of the bowl, inviting a comfortable grip.

Crafted in the renowned Arita region of Japan, this chawan carries the legacy of Aritaware, celebrated for its exceptional porcelain since the early 17th century. The Hana Izumi Kiln upholds this tradition, utilising time-honoured techniques combined with their unique artistic vision. The result is a piece that is not only visually stunning but also boasts remarkable durability and a refined tactile quality.

The generous yet comfortable size of this chawan is ideal for whisking your matcha to a frothy perfection. The smooth, glazed interior provides an excellent surface for the whisk, while the sturdy base ensures stability. Holding this bowl in your hands, you'll feel the connection to a rich cultural heritage, transforming your daily matcha preparation into a meditative and enriching experience.
