Elevate your Japanese tea ceremony with the compelling beauty of the Hana Izumi Kiln Kuro Black Tenmoku Nagashi Katakuchi Chawan. This meticulously crafted matcha bowl embodies the sophisticated artistry of the renowned Tenmoku glaze, a historical technique celebrated for its profound black hues and remarkable transformations during firing.

The defining characteristic of this chawan is its "Kuro Black Tenmoku Nagashi" glaze. "Kuro" signifies its deep black base, while "Tenmoku" refers to the iron-rich glaze that, when expertly fired, can reveal stunning, often iridescent, oil-spot-like patterns or subtle brownish-red flashes. The "Nagashi" (flowing) element introduces dynamic streaks and swirls into the rich black, creating a sense of movement and depth that makes each bowl a unique, captivating masterpiece.

Beyond its striking visual impact, this chawan is designed for seamless utility. The integrated "Katakuchi" spout provides a practical and elegant solution for pouring whisked matcha, allowing for precise transfer to other cups or direct serving with grace. The bowl's traditional shape is perfectly suited for comfortable and efficient whisking with a bamboo chasen, ensuring a smooth and frothy bowl of matcha every time.

From the esteemed Hana Izumi Kiln, this chawan represents a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese ceramic heritage and artistic innovation. It is an indispensable piece for any matcha connoisseur seeking to deepen their appreciation for the profound beauty and functionality of authentic Japanese tea ware.
