Produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, this bowl is shaped in the distinctive "mokko" form, a traditional Japanese design inspired by the cross-section of a wood apple or gourd. The "mokko" shape, combined with the papaya-inspired color, adds a touch of unique elegance. This bowl showcases a dynamic "change glaze" effect, where the glaze's appearance subtly shifts depending on the light and angle of viewing. This creates a captivating, ever-evolving surface that adds visual depth and intrigue. The base glaze features the characteristic speckled, earthy tones of goma (sesame) glaze, providing a warm and rustic foundation for the "change glaze" effect. The "mokko" shape and goma sesame glaze base evoke a sense of traditional Japanese design, while the "change glaze" adds a contemporary twist, a combination of traditional and contemporaray blend. Its small size makes it perfect for serving condiments, dips, appetisers, or individual portions of side dishes.
It is a versatile addition to any kitchen or dining table. Not only functional but also a captivating piece of art, it will add a touch of dynamic beauty to your tableware collection.
