Lucy Raverat's inspiration has always come from her own life, the little everyday situations and the predicament of human existence in a strange and beautiful universe. For her a painting is successful when she is pulled into it and have the feeling that it’s the painting that is looking at her, at once the observer and the observed. She is an artist who often employs elements from her own life in her work and currently paints from her home in France.
